Benalmádena, Spain

Benalmádena is at first glance a typical seaside resort. The place is a bit coloured by all the tourism and it is densely packed with hotels and pools. Upon closer inspection you will still find that the area also has many other great things to offer. Benalmádena is actually composed of three areas: Benalmádena Costa, Benalmádena Pueblo and the town of Arroyo de la Miel, each of which are quite different.

Benalmádena Costa is the lower part closest to the coast. Characteristic of Benalmádena Costa is Puerto Marina, with its round yellow-white buildings appearing like castles with luxury yachts around. From the port area you can find sailing trips, fishing excursions and paragliding. Several of the boats are beautiful and suitable for team-building and kick offs. The whole area is tiled, with spots of mosaic and the waiters are ready to spoil you right away. Under one of the thousand umbrellas on the beach, you can relax with a cool drink in your hand. You will be offered refreshments, massage, clothes, watches and sunglasses. West of the promenade is one of Europe's most luxurious casinos, Casino Torrequebrada, and some golf clubs. Walking east of the marina you will come to Torremolinos

Benalmádena Pueblo is just up the mountainside and is a typical old Spanish village with a lovely old church, cobbled streets and typical Spanish restaurants. Here you will find tranquility and romance. The old Spanish style is well preserved with low whitewashed houses. All terraces and pots are bursting with flowers and there are small and large cobbled squares with benches and fountains. In the Pueblo there are traditional flamenco evenings every week with local cuisine, Spanish guitar and passionate clapping.
